The Key FOB and Security System - A Possible Life Saver?

Fob is a word, not an acronym.  It is a small electronic device designed to go on a key chain to use with your house or car keys.  They are included with the purchase of many home security systems.  Most fobs that come with home security systems have 4 buttons.  The buttons can be programmed to do various functions.  Many know them to have a "panic" button.  The most popular uses are to arm your security system after you close the door leaving your home, to disram your system when you approach the door of your home and to be used as a silent alarm that sends a signal through your security system to notify the police in case of a home invasion or assault in or around your home.  There is a maximum range that they are limited to be able to send a signal in.  Many people are utilizing the benefits of these great little devices.   Some people keep them by their bed or on a nightstand to be used in the case of an emergency.  They don't cost much, can be added to many exsiting security systems and come as a standard part of the new wireless home security systems.
