To Buy Or Not to Buy Is The Question...

Many of the "free" offers or $99 "specials" that the larger security companies offer can have some disadvantages. One of the primary downfalls is that in the small print of the contract many times you will find that it states you do not actually own the system. It really belongs to the security company that is doing the monitoring. The disadvantage to you not truly owning your own system is the company who "sold" it to you has the ability to disable it so that no other companies monitor your home. You are stuck with them and they can raise your monitoring fees year after year if they want and you are not able to have another company monitor your system. Not only that, but, you are not able to use it to protect your home as a stand-alone system without having a company monitor your home. They can disable it so that it will not work at all.  Looking for home security?  Buy your own wireless system that almost anyone can install for around $250 and get independent monitoring without a contract for under $12 a month, http://www.interstatealarmmonitoring.com/
